Vaudeville performer and thereminist in the UK'Musaire' (aka J. Forrest Whiteley), was a UK based theremin player, who frequently billed himself as 'Europe's only Thereminist'. He used the theremin as part of his collection of around twenty musical instruments, in a presentation designed to educate his audience in the physics of sound. He appeared in major theatres around the country, including thirty appearances in the Royal Albert Hall, on BBC broadcasts, and TV programmes. He also offered his services at private and public functions all over the country. His customised RCA theremin (shown in the picture) was specially customised, with a pulley system for staccatoes and other special effects. He is also known to have corresponded with Lucie Rosen. His instrument is now in the possesion of the Musical Museum (Brentford, UK), and its members are aiming to restore it to its previous condition.
